This accessibility statement applies to millsqleeds.com/ This website is run by Leeds City Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

Compliance Status This website is not compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below. Non-accessible content The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons. Navigation and accessing information There’s no way to skip the repeated content in the page header. For example, a ‘skip to main content’ option (WCAG: 2.4.1).

Contrast Issues

Some pages contain elements with low contrast between the element and its background, particularly when under focus. This can cause text to be difficult to read, especially for those with low vision, poor eyesight, or colour blindness (WCAG: 1.4.3). It’s not possible for users to change colours, contrast levels and fonts. The website’s original design uses custom CSS to handle styles of content elements throughout the website. To add the possibility of changing colours and contrast levels, the CSS will need to be re-written. Facility to change the font will be completed by 31 July 2021. You can’t zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen It’s partially working, in a very few places it’s not working where we have adjusted UI elements to position better by setting manually a min or max width/height of the element. It’s overlapping but not spilling off the screen (WCAG: 1.4.10). Extensive redesign work required to solve it fully. Date of completion: 31 July 2021. You cannot Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software Originally the website was not built to work with speech recognition software due to not being a requirement at the time of the first development of the site. Extensive UI planning, design and development work required to make it work. Date of completion: 31 July 2021. You cannot Listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver) Partially working, in some cases not working where the site is using image banners due to which it loses the path of elements flowing on screen. Extensive redesign work required to solve it fully. Also some work needs to be done by Spektrix on seat selection and checkout process for it. Date of completion: 31 July 2021. Images without a description Some images on our website do not have appropriate alternative text. People with screen readers or other assistive devices rely on these descriptions to understand the image content and purpose (WCAG: 1.1.1). Whilst we work to address this issue, please contact usif you require a description of specific image content. Links without meaningful purpose Not all external link descriptions specify the link destination (WCAG 2.4.4). This means that links do not make sense when taken out of context, and for some links it is not possible to know what the purpose of the link is. Whilst we work to address this issue, please contact us if you are experiencing issues with identifying and accessing content through hyperlinks. Interactive tools and transactions Our box office payment path is built and hosted through third party software and ‘skinned’ to look like our website. An example of this is the ‘Seating Plan’ and ‘Ticket Delivery Options’ in the Spektrix iFrame System. It’s not possible to use keyboard navigation to select seats on the seating plan and to select your ticket delivery options. Disproportionate burden We don’t have any disproportionate burden claims. Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations This section covers issues that we do not need to fix right now. The law calls these exemptions. Portable Document Formats (PDFs) and documents Some of our PDFs that are not essential to providing our services were published before 23rd September 2018. We are implementing strategies to ensure that any new PDFs or documents we publish will meet accessibility standards. If you have trouble accessing these documents, please contact us. Preparation of this accessibility statement This statement was prepared on 5 October 2020. It was last reviewed on 5 October 2020. This website was last tested on 2 October 2020. The test was carried out by Twenty-First Century Media Group using the WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool. The test brought back the following results: 9 Errors, 11 Contrast Issues The home page was tested on the site. The home page was used to evaluate the issues that face the website.  All additional pages will be tested after the errors, contrast errors and alerts have been corrected.  For more information, please see an example of the report.
